The watch refurbishment which Second Time Round offer costs just over £40 and can be performed on both the bracelet and the head of the watch. In general the bracelet is the section which takes most of the wear and tear damage; often picking up scratches and losing the lustre and shine it previously had. It is possible to remove all abrasions and scratches from the bracelet whilst also removing the dirt and grease from in between the links and polishing the metal back to it’s former shine.
When it comes to the head of the watch Second Time Round recommend that a watch refurbishment should not include the removal of scratches from the back of the watch. Especially when there are serial numbers or other authentication markings already present on this surface. The backplate is subject to being worn down through wear anyway, so to further exacerbate this effect would be foolish and could have implications on the watch valuation.
